Dr. Brian Fogarty’s Medical Training

A native of New York, Dr. Fogarty completed his undergraduate studies at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.  After completing his medical degree at Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, D.C. in 1999, he embarked on his 20-year Army Diagnostic Radiology Career.

Dr. Brian Fogarty’s Medical Experience

As a Radiology Resident at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, he served as medical director for the Physics of Medical Imaging course teaching residents imaging quality optimization and protocol management.

Upon completion of his residency training, he returned to West Point to work at Keller Army Community Hospital where he held a faculty appointment and served as the faculty imaging expert for the Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship. In this capacity he led weekly multi-disciplinary conferences and trained orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists to utilize imaging findings to optimize their surgical and non-surgical care.  Additional military assignments comprised of multiple overseas tours included Iraq. Returning to Walter Reed Military Center for his final assignment, he cared for active-duty personnel, their families, retirees, and wounded warriors.  From Walter Reed’s Breast Imaging Center, he supported the Executive Medicine section and participated in the care of our Nation’s leaders and their families. He has a breadth of experience in Women’s Imaging and General Radiology with specialized training in Breast MRI and sports related injuries.

Dr. Fogarty has consulted with Rye Radiology since 2010 and formally joined the practice in 2024. Dr. Fogarty is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and has several publications.  His Professional Society Memberships include the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Radiology, and the Society of Breast Imaging.
